My journey to founding OnFireSales.AI has been far from conventional, filled with both high-flying successes and humbling setbacks. These experiences have shaped me into the person and professional I am today.
Along the Way:
Military Career and Passion for Aviation:
- I began my career as a pilot and officer in the Finnish Air Force, in Flight Officer Course 63. It was classified as a special operations unit back then.
- I actively continue to serve as a reserve lieutenant in the Finnish Defence Forces in various training and leadership roles.
- My passion for flying endures, and I’m currently renewing my private pilot’s license.
Music and Stage Experience:
- Music has always been a powerful force for me. I’ve had the privilege of playing drums with legends like top bassist Victor Wooten, Steppenwolf guitarist Steve Fister, blues guitarist Dean Hall, and country legend Tom T. Hall.
- As a drummer in Dean Hall and the Loose Eels, I opened up for top American artists such as BB King, Leon Russell, Deana Carter, Delbert McClinton, and the Atlanta Rhythm Section.
- In 1998, I came agonizingly close to joining the country band Dixie Chicks (now The Chicks), just before they became superstars. I won the audition, but I couldn’t move to Dallas because I had a young child, and The Chicks ultimately chose another drummer. Ouch!
- As a drummer, I proudly endorse Aquarian drumheads and drumsticks.
- I also play guitar and graduated from the Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) in Hollywood, California. Nowadays, I mostly play guitar to my drunk friends at parties. I am a teetotaler myself.
Career Advancements and Lessons Learned:
- My professional life has included both ups and downs. I had a consulting company in Indiana and a marketing company in Florida, which made the Inc. 500 and 5000 lists among the fastest-growing companies in the United States. However, due to my own poor choices, I managed to crash my company after 4 years and was left with nothing. But it was then, as a 47-year-old youngster, that I discovered my true calling: sales.
- This led me to Medialuotsi, a Finnish digital marketing agency, where I spent nearly a decade.
- At Medialuotsi, I immersed myself in the teachings of American top entrepreneur Grant Cardone. I studied Cardone University twice, read all Grant’s books, and spent over 2,000 hours practicing his sales closing techniques.
- This dedication paid off: I broke numerous sales records at Medialuotsi, many of which were still in effect when I departed in early 2025.
- My sales skills—whether by phone, video, face-to-face, email, or text—developed into formidable assets. I consistently went above and beyond to help my clients, and many of them remain my friends.
Continuous Learning and Personal Challenges:
- My path has been unconventional, as I began attending college for a business license degree at the age of 56, but with immense enthusiasm!
- I’ve also faced personal challenges, including melanoma (skin cancer) and tinnitus from my military service and drumming career. I beat the melanoma, but my ears still ring as a reminder of those wild times.
- I continue to learn versatile warfare and leadership skills in the Finnish Defense Forces on reserve duty.
Through all of this, my wife and I have built a happy and faithful marriage lasting over 33 years and raised an amazing son, now 31, who is building his own career as a recruiter in Florida.
